This compilation of drone and juxtaposed bodycam footage shows an armed suspect trying to make a break for it, despite being surrounded and outgunned by Indianapolis police. As the suspect is shot due to his actions, viewer's discretion is advised.
The footage begins with what appears to be drone coverage from above the incident. We see the suspect's car boxed in from behind and to its left and right. We see the driver, a female, exit the vehicle upon being prompted, her hands in the air. However, at 0:08, the passenger exits the vehicle with a handgun. He is swiftly engaged by the police- a team of Indianapolis Metro and Indiana State police- and brought down scarcely two seconds later, having made it perhaps ten feet from the car.
At 0:22, we see juxtaposed bodycam footage from the perspectives of the officers involved. One of the officers is shown swapping from his rifle to his pistol, and upon moving forward, they clearly spot the suspect's weapon. The suspect, 42-year-old Darmon Graves, was pronounced dead on-scene. The stop had been initiated due to Graves' being suspected of violating parole via violent felony. The female driver was detained but released after interview.
