This compilation of bodycam footage, provided and narrated by Phoenix PD of Arizona, shows four officers engaging an armed suspect. A shootout ensues that ends with the suspect killed and one detective shot. Viewer discretion is advised.
The police were attempting to apprehend a known violent suspect with warrants for his arrest- one 30-year-old Junior Reyes. However, despite being outnumbered at least four to one, Reyes chose the shootout option. The first officer to engage, attempting to incapacitate him with a non-lethal projectile, is struck and wounded by gunfire. While other officers fire at Reyes, the fourth officer in this sequence engages him with a handgun at extremely close range, with Reyes falling very literally at his feet.
The wounded detective was treated and released from an area hospital, whereas Reyes died of his wounds.
