NRF Conducts Assault on Taliban in Panjshir

Members of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan conduct an assault on a Taliban position. According to the NRF, this day long operation resulted in the deaths of 25 Taliban fighters.

The fight for a free Afghanistan continues to happen even as the world turns a blind eye to the situation. The death of Ayman al-Zawahiri's in Kabul indicates that the Taliban are once again allowing al-Qaeda to utilize Afghanistan as a stomping ground for training future terrorists. While the Biden Administration are holding that drone strike up as a win, it's worth noting that al-Zawahiri was a 71-year-old man, and nothing more than an al-Qaeda figurehead.

Tactical and strategic leaders for al-Qaeda are still roaming freely in Afghanistan, and as a result I expect we'll start seeing better trained al-Qaeda fighters being thrown into the fray against groups like the AFF and NRF in the very near future.

While Ukraine and Taiwan are both very important venues to watch for global conflict right now, it's important that we don't take our eye off of the ball in Afghanistan. Currently, al-Qaeda has access to tools and equipment that they have never before had access to, and they once again have an entire country at their disposal to grow their operation.
