No One Left Behind is a non-profit organization that seeks to get Afghan and Iraqi interpreters who worked for the United States throughout the Global War on Terror to America where they can finally be safe.
Countless Afghan and Iraqi interpreters were told that working for the United States Military in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom would get them and their families taken care of. Many of these interpreters worked on the front-lines, shoulder to shoulder with Infantry and Special Operations units, directly in the thick of the worst fighting in both conflicts. Now, these interpreters are being left behind, and are finding themselves and their families in extreme danger as their work for the United States did not go unrecognized by the enemies of America.
This is of no fault of their own. Specifically in Afghanistan, it is not that these men, who acted as the social lubricant needed to fight a counter-terror war, did not complete the paperwork required of them to enter the United States and begin the process of becoming American Citizens. It is a bureaucratic malfunction in the 14-step SIV system that held many of these interpreters up, and caused many of them to be left behind in a now Taliban controlled Afghanistan.
Enter the No One Left Behind non-profit organization. For several years now, No One Left Behind has operated to try and fix the 14-step SIV process that takes upwards of 3.5 years to complete. When the current humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan kicked off, No One Left Behind was directly on the front-lines of it doing everything that they could to ensure our allies were taken care of. Even now, as the American military presence has completely left the country, leaving an overwhelming majority of our allies stranded, No One Left Behind is still doing everything in their power to fulfill the promise the American Government made to these men who risked their lives with us on the front lines.
