Video shows Nigerian troops chasing down and firing upon a fleeing vehicle of Islamic State-affiliated Boko Haram terrorists. The video is possibly from a recent operation in which Nigerian special forces killed 33 Boko Haram militants in Borno State, while only sustaining two casualties.
The Boko Haram scourge began in Nigeria in 2009, but has since spread to Niger, Chad and Cameroon. Their atrocities are responsible for 3 million displaced people, and over 30,000 dead. In 2015 Boko Haram swore allegiance to the Islamic State and formally became Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP/ISWA), but is still often referred to as Boko Haram. By swearing allegiance to IS, they receive funding, training, and weapons through the larger, international terror organization, allowing them to continue expanding.
