Police in Burnsville, Minnesota fatally shot an armed carjacker on Apr. 18, 2021, and some of the event was captured by a traffic camera.
According to the reports, officers initially had a run-in with the suspect when he crashed a car with stolen license plates, but were unable to locate him at the time. Shortly after, they received a call that a woman was carjacked at gunpoint by a man matching the description. They were able to locate the vehicle and gave pursuit.
In the traffic cam footage the man can be seen driving wildly on the median and in the grassy ditches. Police reported that he was firing his weapon at them through the back windshield. The man can also be seen driving with the door open, and he eventually bails out of the vehicle while it is still in motion.
The man then runs out onto a bust highway and appears to be pointing his gun at motorists in an attempt to get them to stop. The suspect reportedly fired at the officers again, but was then shot fatally.
