Marines on a combat outpost in Afghanistan come under attack by Taliban forces and respond with machine gun and grenade launcher fire.
The video demonstrates the instantaneous polar switch in the operational environment that can occur at any time on the battlefield.
The Marines are bored out of their minds singing a classic Jennifer Lopez song when suddenly a rocket propelled grenade zips in. It is no longer boring, in fact it is far from boring.
The footage shows that although they are bored, they remain vigilant, not complacent. The machine gunner can see the launch point of the rocket before they even hear it. He immediately returns fire with near cyclic bursts, and his buddy is able to identify the sound of accurate incoming small arms fire and pulls the machine gunner down to keep him from getting shot. During all of this they maintain their composure, as if it's just another day at the office.
