Combat Footage recorded during the 1968 Battle for Hue City in Vietnam shows a United States Marine Corps M48 Patton Main Battle Tank engaging with Vietcong forces.
The Battle of Hue City, also known as the Siege of Hue City, was a major military engagement involving and joint operation that pit 15,000 American and South Vietnamese troops against 7,000 North Vietnamese troops and Vietcong fighters. The battle itself was caused after ARVN forces in Hue were overrun on January 31st during an attack by a division of PAVN-VC forces.
It's unclear on what date this specific footage was recorded, however throughout the battle Marine Forces often engaged in house-to-house fighting with PAVN and VC forces throughout the city of Hue.
