Machine Gunner Makes Lucky Shot On Russian Cruise Missile

Footage reportedly shows a Ukrainian heavy machine gunner luckily landing a blind shot on a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile traversing the sky above the troops. The missile can be seen exploding in the air before it can reach its target.

Ukrainian sources claim it was a Browning M2 .50 BMG that shot the missile down, which would be an improbable, although not impossible scenario. The rate of fire sounds too fast for an M2, but there are also multiple weapon systems firing simultaneously that could effect the perception of the firing rate. Again, luck would have to play a large part in that instance. It's also possible that the missile was intercepted by a surface-to-air missile not seen in the footage.
