Thermal drone footage of a Ukrainian Leopard 2A6 main battle tank pushing into a tree line. Nearby, a squad of Russian infantry can be seen milling about. The Leopard traverses the turret and sends several rounds in that direction, felling a tree or two and dispersing the squad. The Leopard’s were seen as a critical capability when they entered the fray last year, but little has been heard of them in recent months and many have suffered damage. Much of the fighting has relied on infantry, with tanks taking a supporting role.
