Ukraine likely carried out drone strikes on the Russian capital on July 30, 2023. The drones struck office buildings in the Moscow business district. Russian officials claimed the drones were brought down by jamming, suggesting they may have been aimed at other targets. The explosions occurred only a few kilometers from the Kremlin.
While the drones inflicted no significant physical damage against critical infrastructure, the operations send a message to the very heart of Russia, and will likely result in further fallout of domestic support for the Russian military's invasion into Ukraine.
