Members of the Iraqi Aviation Unit destroy an Islamic State IED team on an MSR near Al-Hamidiyah in the Babil region of Iraq.
Iraq has come a long way since 2003. While their military is not nearly as capable as their American counter-parts in the war against terrorism, it's easy to see that thing have definitely changed. Even as early back as 2008, it was impossible to think that the Iraqi military would be capable of conducting air strikes all by themselves. Now, they have a full fledged aviation unit conducting these operations as if they were routine flight operations.
This video was recorded in 2016 during the fight against the Islamic State. It shows members of the Iraqi Aviation Unit (Callsign Hawks) conducting a strike a group of Islamic State fighters who were emplacing an improvised explosive device.
