The LaGrange Police Department released intense body camera and drone footage from a standoff situation which lasted from November 15th until November 17th, 2021, showing the moments a mentally ill man barricaded himself in his home, utilized hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and Tannerite in a desperate attempt to combat Law Enforcement Officers.

On November 15th, 2021, officers responded to a residence located at 118 Sunny Point Circle, after a man, identified as 39-year-old Brian Jessee posted disturbing suicidal ideations to his social media news feed. The officers arrived at the residence to conduct a welfare check, which ultimately resulted in Jessee's children being removed from the home after a six-hour de-escalation standoff.

The next day, November 16th, 2021, officers returned to the residence, after they received disturbing text messages exchanged between Brian Jessee and an unidentified individual. With probable cause, officers arrived at the home for a second time to serve the following warrants:

Six counts of felony Terroristic Threats
One count of Cruelty to a Child in the Second Degree
One count of Felony Obstruction

With information regarding Jessee's stockpile of weapons, body armor and munitions, SWAT officers were dispatched to setup a perimeter around the residence and evacuate all surrounding homes. As the standoff continued to develop, responding law enforcement agencies ruled the situation as an active shooter after Jessee began firing hundreds of rounds at police drones, SWAT vehicles, and aimlessly inside his residence.

For sixteen hours, law enforcement officers attempted de-escalation tactics, but were met with heavy resistance from Jessee. At approximately 7:30 a.m., a police drone located a small fire which had been started in the garage attached to the home. LaGrange Fire Department arrived on scene in an attempt to combat the now 'raging' fire, however they were unsuccessful.

After later investigations, Brian Jessee's remains were located within the residence, but the cause of death at this time is unknown. This incident still remains under investigation.
