Indonesian Military Training Is A Fratricide Nightmare

A cringe inducing military training exercise out of Indonesia shows instructors firing rifle rounds to within inches of their troops who are crawling through a mud pit below them. The event is likely designed to be some sort of stress test combined with a trust exercise, but the risks of injuring or killing friendly troops far exceeds any value that can be achieved. When rifle rounds impact the ground, they don't just stop... they deflect, ricochet, and bounce while maintaining lethal kinetic energy.
