Aftermath footage from Russia's intercontinental ballistic missile strike shows the effects of the munition's impacts. If the damage seems underwhelming it's because Russia likely used inert, unarmed warheads and the damage seen is strictly from the kinetic energy of the warhead impacts. The strike seems to be a show of force with a warning that Russia can strike anywhere in Ukraine using nuclear-capable missiles that cannot be intercepted or shot down. The escalation comes on the heels of lame duck President Biden green-lighting Ukraine's use of US long range missiles striking targets deep in Russia.
