Human Trafficker Rams Police While Moving Illegal Migrants

Dashcam footage released by the Texas Department of Public Safety on January 25, 2024 shows a high-speed chase ending when an 18-year-old American human trafficker working with the Cartels crashes into a DPS patrol unit. At one point, the teenager speeds through a parking lot, narrowly missing several civilians before he gets back onto a highway and drives into oncoming traffic causing the crash.

Immediately following the crash, 18-year-old Ricardo Hernandez and the two illegal migrants he was smuggling into the country abandon the vehicle and attempt to escape on foot. All three men were captured by DPS and Hernandez is being charged with evading arrest, four counts of smuggling of persons with the likelihood of serious bodily injury and aggravated assault on a public servant.

If you're wondering why Texas is taking such a hard-line stance on the border crisis, this happens multiple times per day in the state.
