Hezbollah Targets IDF Merkava Mk. 4 Tanks With Almas ATGM

This footage, released by a Hezbollah media outlet on 09 April, 2024, shows what is reportedly the view as recorded by an Almas Anti-Tank Guided Missile being used to strike a sitting Israeli tank.

As previously discussed, the Almas is an Iranian-supplied, reverse-engineered version of Israel's own Spike anti-tank guided missile (ATGM). Here, it's being used to attack one of two Merkava Mk. 4 main battle tanks. While the trajectory of the missile suggests that it hit the targeted tank, there is no indication of what damage was done. Whereas in Ukraine, spotter drones are often used to find targets and assess the efficacy of an attack, there appears to have been no spotter available here. This inability to make full use of modern technology and technique seems to extend to Hezbollah's videography, as they have gone out of their way to make this footage appear as though it's on tape.
