An Israeli Defense Forces (IFD) base sustained significant damage following a Hezbollah "Burkan" heavy rocket attack that was launched from inside Lebanon.
While there are no reports yet of casualties, aftermath footage shows completely destroyed barracks buildings at the site of the impacts, which is home to the Israeli Army's 91st Division. Hezbollah reportedly fired four total Burkans in two-rocket volleys, 20 minutes apart.
The Burkan munition is a short range (up to 10km) rocket that can carry up to a 500kg (1,100 lbs) explosive payload. Hezbollah has reportedly launched over a thousand rockets into Israel from Lebanon, which demonstrates the Lebanese government's inability or unwillingness to reign in their home-grown terror group. It also risks the escalation of a open regional conflict as Iran continues to facilitate Hezbollah, Hamas, and Houthi rebels all actively attacking Israel.
