This footage, captured and provided by the Associated Press, shows a glimpse into the chaotic situation in Haiti as civilians flee while police and military units care for and protect who they can.
Civilians are shown fleeing en masse, clutching what belongings they may. A police officer is shown rendering rudimentary aid to a wounded civilian before taking his rifle back up and heading into the conflict. Military and police patrols and vehicles are shown in the streets, but the streets are largely empty, which gives the impression that there aren't enough of them and the city's already all but lost. Driving that point home, the footage ends with another heliborne evacuation, although the identity of the passengers isn't disclosed.
