GoPro footage recorded just South of Bakhmut shows Ukrainian troops advancing towards Russian positions while they output a devastating volume of fire. While the Russian troops aren't specifically seen in video, the objective of a fire rate like this is to allow for attacking forces to maneuver within close proximity to Russian forces, with the ultimate objective being to overrun their positions.
Fire superiority is a requirement in all ground based infantry operations. Without a devastating amount of outgoing fire from your positions into the enemy's location, you are rarely able to maneuver. The side with freedom of movement stemming from fire superiority is usually going to be the side that wins the gunfight.
There's an old saying that goes Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns. Bring their friends who have guns, and that saying is rooted in the idea of obtaining and maintaining fire superiority. Even if the fire isn't devastatingly accurate, it can have the effect of placing the enemy into a state of battlefield shock, which renders the enemy unable to make a decision against your own decisive actions.
Remember kids, fire without movement is a waste of ammunition, and movement without fire is suicide. This video is a great example of fire superiority in action.
