Funker530 Team members Ronnie and Will are on the ground in Burnsville, North Carolina, embedded with elements of the North Carolina National Guard responding to victims of Hurricane Helene. In the footage shown, Ronnie and Will are with a team searching for victims washed away by flood waters, a mother and her children. Cadaver dogs indicated a particular debris pile where remains might be found, and so responders gingerly pick through the debris, fully expecting to uncover the body of a child. Ultimately, remains were not uncovered at this location, and so the search continues. Burnsville was hit particularly hard by the storm, and the focus of effort has transitioned to repairing infrastructure and recovering missing victims. At the time the footage was taken, eight area residents were missing, although more victims may be recovered as undocumented residents and tourists are difficult to track. The Funker team noted multiple local, state, and federal agencies on site contributing to the relief effort and mountains of supplies, some of which can be seen in the footage taken from the helicopter as it approaches Burnsville.
