Funker530's Ronnie Adkins reports in by a shattered bridge near Relief, North Carolina. As Ronnie explains, the bridge has been made usable in the barest sense of the word, allowing larger vehicles to compact filler and allow some semblance of access. While it is at present unclear if the bridge and road will ever be civilian-safe again, it certainly seems unlikely in the wake of such devastation. In the background sits a house that's over 100 years old, to give an indication of how deeply-rooted the community in this area is. However, it is flooded waist high with mud, and the obliterated road and railroad tracks are tossed about like playthings. These, and an old pickup floating in the river provide poignant metaphors- Appalachian life as it once was, washed away. (Correction: The footage of the paved bridge from 2:26-3:53 was taken in Burnsville the day prior, and not Relief. This was a miscommunication between the team on the ground and editors back in the office.)
