The Russian military uploaded footage they claim shows a KA-52 "Alligator" attack helicopter strike on a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier. However, the vehicle was actually a Russian MT-LB that Ukrainian forces had recently immobilized during a failed Russian assault.
The Russians' nonsense claims were refuted as Ukraine had recorded the incident in which the Russian vehicle was initially disabled, and it was easily geolocated behind a destroyed Russian tank.
Leaked messages from Russian soldiers on the ground have shown that it is a common occurrence for Russia to strike already destroyed Russian and Ukrainian vehicles and send the footage up their chain of command to give the false appearance of success on the battlefield.
