Drone footage of a Russian infantry squad decimated by a Ukrainian FPV drone with a airburst charge. The Russian squad is milling about in the open, as the are wont to do, with actual cover nearby, when they detect an incoming FPV drone. The drone bores in and detonates, undoubtedly causing casualties. This is a scene we have witnessed numerous times, though in previous instances the drone carried a simple explosive charge and exploded on contact with a target. Here we see an innovation, a drone equipped with an airburst charge that detonates over the squad and distributes fragmentation over w wider area, not dissimilar from an HE/VT round fired from an artillery piece. The device is clearly effective against troops in the open and represents yet another step in the evolution of drone warfare.
