Body camera footage from a December 2021 incident, shows the moments multiple deputies rescued a female driver trapped within her burning vehicle.
On December 29th, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the Suncoast Parkway on the SR 52 overpass just after midnight. Upon arriving on scene, deputies were approached by a female subject who stated the driver of the burning car was unable to exit the vehicle due to its significant damage.
The deputies understood they needed to make haste of the situation, and immediately grabbed a fire extinguisher to combat the flames. As shown in the body camera footage, the flames from the vehicle overpowered the extinguishers. To prevent the woman from burning alive, deputies began bending the damaged drivers side to a point where they could physically remove the female driver safely.
At this time, the identity of the female subject nor her condition have been released.
