London residents reported hearing explosions prior to a huge blaze that engulfed a set of railway arches and a commercial unit on Jun. 28, 2021.
Approximately 100 firefighters are battling the blaze near Elephant and Castle railway stations, and six people have reportedly been injured in the incident. One of those injured persons was a police officer who was treated for smoke inhalation.
In contrast to multiple witnesses who reported hearing explosions, updated news posts are underplaying those initial reports and acknowledging only the secondary fire aspect of the incident. The cause of the fire/blasts hasn't been announced.
