Helmet cam footage from Oct. 22, 2015, shows a joint raid being carried out on an ISIS prison in Hawija, Iraq, which freed over 70 prisoners and resulted in the death of one US service member.
The operation was jointly executed by an elite Kurdish counter terror unit of the "Peshmerga" and the US Combat Applications Group (CAG), more commonly known as "Delta Force." Four Kurdish soldiers were reportedly wounded, and Delta Force operator MSG Joshua L. Wheeler was killed in the fighting.
Wheeler was the first US service member to die in combat in Iraq since the disastrous formal withdrawal of US troops in 2011.
