This footage, provided by the Police Department in Moore, Oklahoma, shows their officers negotiating a fence to pursue a suspected car thief. While one officer crawls through a gap in the fencing, another officer simply bulldozes through it.
20-year-old Dontavious Smith had been leading the Moore officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle before crashing it and fleeing on foot as often happens in these incidents. The chase continued through suburban backyards as Smith attempted to use fences to slow the officers down. Two TASER cartridges were used in an attempt to subdue Smith, but one of these failed and the second subjected an officer to crossfire given that they were fired more-or-less blindly.
At 0:30, an officer is shown squeezing through the interstice in some of the fence railing. His partner is decidedly less delicate, having apparently trained at the Kool-Aid School Of Dynamic Entry. “Oh Yeah!” Despite this effort to make up time, the officers still had to hop several more fences to finally pounce on the recently-TASERED Smith. Smith was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation before being booked in the Cleveland County Jail.
