China's top military leader, Central Military Commission Vice Chairman Xu Qiliang, stated that war with the US is inevitable, in the first such admission of its kind.

In order to prepare for that confrontation, China has significantly increased its defense budget to boost its military capabilities, while military leadership also stressed the importance of improving internal unity and cohesion. China's military is currently under a modernization project to "comprehensively strengthen training and preparedness for war and improve the strategic capability to win over strong enemies."

China has demonstrated its recent military force aspirations time and again. They have laid claim to contested areas of the South China Sea and brazenly dredged up literal islands onto which they have built heavily fortified military bases. Their normally cold border disputes with India have turned deadly. China is now projecting its military colonization projects abroad with troop deployments to Africa to extract resources. China also appears to be on the verge of invading Taiwan. They are no longer the "Sleeping Giant."

US Army Maj. Gen. Richard Coffman analyzed the threat, suggesting, "I think that means that you (China) are willing to strike first because, if it's inevitable, why would you wait for your adversary to strike first?" Coffman made the remarks while suggesting the need for updated land combat vehicles that would be lighter and more lethal.

US Navy Admiral Philip Davidson, the highest ranking officer in the Asia-Pacific theater suggested that China will likely invade Taiwan in the next six years, and claimed that China intends to replace the US as the world's top super power in the first half of this century.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden spoke of China's government warmly and verbally exonerated China's literal death camps as differences in cultural norms, while his focus for the US military seems to be that of internal witch hunts to eliminate any political dissenters... er... extremists, while thousands of National Guardsmen continue to secure walls and fences around the US Capitol.
