A member of the First Coastal Division scores a direct hit with a CIA issued TOW missile on what appears to be a Syrian Arab Army T-62 main battle tank.
What you're looking at here is probably one of the last TOW missile strikes conducted in Syria. While it's certainly not the last, by the date alone we can be sure that it's one of the last. This footage was recorded in December of 2017 in Northern Hama. Shortly after this, the Central Intelligence Agency would stop supplying the Free Syrian Army with anti-tank guided missile systems, forcing groups like the First Coastal Division to rely on black market arms to supply themselves with other ATGM systems.
If you're ever wondering what would happen to an ancient Soviet main battle tank when it gets hit by a TOW missile, this video is a pretty good source to see the carnage. I can't be positive, because my armor ID is not as solid as it once was, but I believe what we're seeing here is a T-62. If it's not a T-62, someone please let me know down in the comments.
