Bridge Doesn't Stop Florida Fur Missile

This footage comes from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and local news station in Florida. Suspects in a June drive-by shooting were actively fleeing law enforcement, but ECSO K-9 Streeter was not having it- even though the suspects jumped off a bridge, Streeter refused to give up, jumping off the bridge himself. Although minor injuries were sustained from the jump, all parties (including Escambia’s Goodest Boy) survived.

The three suspects are in the white sedan which is shown getting the PIT maneuver, courtesy of Escambia County Sheriff’s Department. The are wanted in connection to a drive-by shooting that had happened earlier that week, which hospitalized an elderly woman. Two suspects are shown bailing over one side of the bridge, while a third runs to the other side. ECSO K9 Streeter gives chase, selflessly and immediately jumping off the bridge to get after the third runner.

For reasons not disclosed, Streeter’s actual jump is omitted from the bodycam footage, though a bystander managed to record it as shown at the 1-minute mark. At 01:19, the camera footage reverts to the bodycam, showing the Deputies rescuing Streeter from the water below. He was taken to a local Animal Hospital which released him for “light desk duties” after treatment.

The suspect whom Streeter went airborne to chase was arrested in Laredo, Texas on June 27, 2024. He will be extradited to Escambia, Florida, to face charges.
