Update: As of Nov 16, the most likely cause of the blast was a Ukraine air defense missile, according to Nato chief.
Footage out of Poland tonight allegedly shows the missile impact area of a Russian missile which landed in in Poland, killing two Polish civilians at a site where grain was drying near Przewodów.
According to the Associated Press, a suspected Russian missile has flown into Polish territory tonight, killing two civilians in the village of Przewodów.
The Pentagon told reporters that it was taking the reports "seriously and looking into them."
"Right now we are aware of the press reporting on this and we have no information at this time to corroborate those reports," Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said. "I don't want to speculate or get into hypotheticals when it comes to our security commitments.
"We've been crystal clear that we will defend every inch of NATO territory," he said in reference to NATO's Article 5, which states an attack against any NATO member is an attack against all NATO members.
The Russian Ministry of Defense is denying any involvement with the incident, stating that they believe it is a clear provocation to further escalate the situation. "No strikes were made against targets near the Ukrainian-Polish state border by Russian means of destruction," Russia said in a statement.
The video above, which was released by a Ukrainian news agency, allegedly shows the impact site of the missile. At this time, we are unable to confirm that the video is correct due to the source of the release. That said, we will continue to pay attention to this situation very closely.
