Bangladesh Prime Minister Flees Country Amid Deadly Protests

After hundreds died in recent demonstrations, and protesters raided her residence, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled her country to India aboard a military helicopter.


The protests were student lead, reportedly stemming from a decades old policy in which war veterans and their families were given hiring preference for many jobs and that issue was exacerbated by an ongoing financial crisis.
