Aussies Use SASR to Take Out Taliban in Shah Wali Kot Offensive

Members of the Australian military partake in the Shah Wali Kot offensive and use the SASR to eliminate Taliban targets.


The Shah Wali Kot offensive was a five day operation by members of ISAF. As part of the Hamkari initiative, the intent was to root out and destroy Taliban fighters in the heart of Taliban country, allowing coalition forces to move deeper into Afghanistan.


This video was recorded on the helmet camera of one of the Australian troops involved in the offensive, and shows a brief portion of a larger 13-hour-long firefight that took place during the five days of intense fighting.
