Body camera footage released by the Celina Police Department, shows the moments a resident committing arson was taken down after slapping a cop into another dimension.
On May 6th, 2021, Celina Fire Department and Police arrived at a home reportedly on fire. The 9-1-1 dispatch call indicated that an occupant of a half-way house started a physical altercation with another resident, which led to the main suspect, identified as Renee Lovelace, to start a house fire. As officers arrived, the homeowner stated that Renee had started small fires in the kitchen, livingroom and stairway.
As shown in the body camera footage, Renee becomes extremely aggressive toward the responding officers. Closing the distance between herself and one officer, she vigorously lunged toward the officer, slapping him across the face. In response, both officers grabbed Renee, slamming her to the ground and immediately detained her.
Since the incident, Renee's charges are as follows:
