Anti-Junta Forces Ambush Government Boat In Myanmar

This footage, provided by a People’s Defense Force media outlet, shows a local PDF unit on the Irrawaddy River. Using buried, directional explosives, they ambush a boat which is carrying supplies for the Myanmar military Junta.

The Anti-junta forces are shown burying the tubed explosives on the bank of the Irrwaddy, where they are detonated as the boat passes by. In purpose and construct, these tubes probably function similarly to command-detonated IEDs more often seen on land in contemporary times, or the home-built mortars used by the IRA in the 1980s and 90s. In either case, the boat is rocked by several of them before the PDF guerrillas continue the ambush with small arms fire from an entrenched position. While most PDF fighters tend to be on the younger end of the spectrum, some members of this particular unit appear to be little more than children.
