An unknown Russian air asset, probably a drone such as the Shahed-136, is destroyed by Ukrainian troops with surface to air missiles (SAMs). The type of SAM is unknown. The air defense teams have mounted their systems in pickup trucks for enhanced mobility. Previous videos have shown rear echelon troops utilizing civilian trucks equipped with ancient Maxim guns to counter Russian drones. Drone warfare poses in interesting economic challenge, as many of the drones cost far less than the missiles used to shoot them down. This allows an attacker to overwhelm the defender with barrages of relatively low-cost drones that eat up supplies of sophisticated and expensive anti-air weapons, creating a logistical and financial burden. As the conflict drags on, both sides in this conflict are experimenting with lower-cost anti-drone measures.
