9K115 Metis ATGM Used on BMP in the Open

Members of the Free Syrian Army utilize an 9K115 ATGM system to destroy a Syrian Arab Army BMP in the open during clashes in the Syrian Civil War sometime in 2014.

We have already written about the ATGM effect that happened as a result of the CIA handing out TOW missiles to people and groups like Abu TOW and the 13th Coastal Division in the past. This video shows the rare clip of an anti-tank guided missile system being effectively used against a piece of armor during clashes that occurred sometime back in 2014 in Syria.

Pro-tip for officers out of this video. If you know your enemy has ATGM capabilities, you need to protect your armor at all costs. You can do this through ISR and targeted airstrikes that specifically hunt and kill these weapon systems. Doing so would allow your armor a bit more freedom of movement. If that is not possible, then ensure that your armor capabilities are aware of the threat so that they can maneuver the vehicles in a manner that keeps themselves at least somewhat protected from this threat.

Unfortunately, these weapon systems are in the open now. They're just something we're going to have to deal with for the remainder of time.
