A video from 2017 shows 100-year-old Lyle Becker, a WWII C-46 Commando pilot visiting the Intel Virtual Reality Lab in Hillsboro, Oregon, to test out Intel's "Vive" virtual reality headset.
Lyle, a seasoned military pilot, additionally spent 25-years as a commercial pilot and an instructor before becoming an air traffic controller for the remainder of his working career. At 100-years-old, Mr. Becker shows us that you're never too old to do anything. Despite his age, Mr. Becker strapped into the VR headset and was able to revisit a long-term passion of his, flying.
Situations like this, personally make me excited for what technologies the future generations will bring. Just image Mr. Becker, a centenarian, emotions during his "first flight" in virtual reality.
